Chhath Puja 2025 Celebrated in Belgium – A Divine Festival of Faith & Devotion
The Bihar Foundation Belgium (BFB) joyfully organized Chhath Puja 2025 from 25th to 28th October across Belgium, bringing together the Bihari community for four days of devotion, purity, and cultural celebration.
The main rituals and gatherings were held at:
Cleydaellaan 5, 2630 Aartselaar, Belgium.
Devotees from various cities across Belgium participated with immense faith and devotion.
Day 1 – Nahay Khay (25th October 2025)
Devotees began the festival with ritualistic bathing and home purification.
A simple sattvik meal of lauki, rice, and chana dal was prepared.
This marked the spiritual beginning of Chhath Puja with purity and discipline.
Day 2 – Kharna (26th October 2025)
Community members observed a full-day fast without water.
In the evening, kheer, roti, and fruits were prepared as prasad.
The temple ambience was filled with bhajans, chanting, and heartfelt devotion.
The gathering reflected strong community bonding among Biharis living in Belgium.
Day 3 – Sandhya Arghya (27th October 2025)
Devotees offered arghya to the setting sun.
The temple area was decorated beautifully with diyas, rangoli, and flowers, creating a divine atmosphere.
Traditional bamboo baskets filled with fruits, thekua, sugarcane, and coconuts were carried for the offering.
The glowing diyas created a mesmerizing view — bringing the essence of Bihar to Belgium.
Day 4 – Usha Arghya (28th October 2025)
The most significant ritual — offering arghya to the rising sun — was performed early morning.
Devotees gathered before sunrise, chanting “Chhathi Maiya ki jai,” marking the completion of the four-day festival.
The morning filled everyone with spiritual energy, peace, and a renewed sense of hope.
Faith Beyond Borders
Chhath Puja is not just a ritual — it’s a celebration of identity, devotion, and cultural heritage.
The Bihar Foundation Belgium ensured that the essence of this sacred festival blossomed far away from Bihar, proving that traditions travel wherever our hearts take them.
